About Norris Healthcare Concierge's Primary Care Model


 Members of Norris Healthcare Concierge pay an annual fee. With this membership fee, you gain extended visits and wellness care, while still receiving around-the-clock access to Dr. Norris and our staff. You will usually be able to get non-emergency appointments within a day or two, more unhurried appointments, an annual comprehensive physical examination, and proactive healthcare services.


By limiting the size of our practice, you can be assured that your concierge physician will be available to treat your health issues and provide exceptional, personalized health care at your extended convenience. Office visits, hospital care, and other medical services will be billed directly to your insurance company just as before.

Concierge Member Benefits Include:

  • Annual Physicals

    • A comprehensive annual medical examination to review all aspects of your health and wellness.
    • After a thorough physical exam, Dr. Norris will discuss your history, screening tests, any x-ray results, vaccination records, and medication management, as well as any medical concerns and additional life factors that may be impacting your health. 
    • All tests will be completed prior to an extended office appointment, so the results can be thoroughly explained.  Except for the Annual Wellness Visits, where tests will be done at that wellness visit.
  • Prompt Appointments

    • Prompt scheduling of appointments outside of the Annual Exam with little or no wait time.  For emergent issues, you will be able to be seen that day or the next business day.  For routine office visits, we will schedule you as soon as possible. 
    • Extended and unhurried office visits (scheduled for 30 minutes) so that you always get the attention we feel you deserve.
  • Prevention and Wellness

    • Coordination with health professionals.
  • Physician Access

    • Direct access to Dr. Norris through a variety of channels. You will receive your physician's personal email address and private cell phone number.  Email is a great form of communication for non-urgent issues either during the day or after hours.  When the office is closed and an urgent matter arises, you can call your doctor, directly. When appropriate, we also use video technology (Facetime, Zoom, or a secure encrypted video platform) to communicate, although all patient appointments are scheduled in the office.  Family may use one of these modalities to join visits at distance.  Video technology will be available to coordinate visits with distant specialists so both your concierge physician and your distant specialist can be part of same visit.  Coordination of times requires at least 3 work days to arrange around schedules.
    • Limited practice size to ensure a personalized approach to your health.  Since the number of patients in the practice is limited, we're able to make your care a priority, and your physician will have the time necessary to address all of your needs as they arise.
    • Direct phone access to our staff during business hours.  When you call, a welcoming member of our team will answer the phone.  Our patient care staff will have the opportunity to get to know you personally, and be able to handle your needs quickly and effectively.
    • When you are away from home, whether on a short trip or for an extended stay, we continue to offer the best possible medical support from a distance, and can communicate with local providers to assist with your care. 
  • Administrative Support

    • Insurance claims filed on your behalf by our staff.
    • Prompt follow-up phone calls to review lab and imaging results.
    • Reminder calls for exams, follow-up procedures and testing.
    • Personalized electronic medical records that you will be able to access via a password protected patient portal on our website.
  • Coordination of Care

    • Visits when you are hospitalized at Lower Keys Medical Center to coordinate your care with hospitalists and advocate on your behalf.
    • Advocacy and coordination with carefully chosen specialists.
    • Coordination of travel-related health needs.
    • Care transition planning.
    • Management of home-care professionals.
  • Patient Safety

    • Of course, patient health and safety is our top priority, and we have taken extra precautions during the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure our patient’s safety.  
    • With a limited size practice, we rarely have patients sitting in our reception area. 
    • Appointments are staggered to minimize exposure to other patients in the office.
    • Facial coverings are required for all patients and staff entering the office.
    • We have enhanced our cleaning process according to CDC protocols and increased the frequency of cleaning public spaces.

Membership Fees


  • How much is the annual fee?

    Please contact our office directly at 305-587-1964 or by filling out the inquiry form to learn more about the concierge membership fee.

  • Does the concierge membership fee cover lab work, injections, and other services provided in your office?

    No, those fees will be billed to Medicare or your current insurance company.

  • Is the annual concierge fee tax deductible?

    This fee may very well be tax deductible. Patients are advised to consult with their tax consultant to clarify qualification in their particular circumstance.

Insurance


  • Do I need to keep my private health insurance (non-Medicare) if I become a member?

    Yes, it is important to keep your health insurance coverage current for lab tests, hospitalizations, or physician consultations not covered by your membership fee.  Although we do not participate as an in-network provider for any commercial insurance plans, your insurance company may still cover many of your lab fees and medical charges. Our staff will send bills directly to your insurance company so that you can be reimbursed for any covered services.

  • Do I pay for office visits?

    Yes, we follow standard insurance rules and are in a number of plans. If you are out of network, we will inform you of fees before the visit.

  • Will my private insurance reimburse my annual concierge fee?

    Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts may at times be used to pay for all or part of the annual fee. Members are advised to consult their human resources representative at their place of employment, or their FSA or HSA plan managers.

  • Do you bill Medicare for the membership fee?

    No, we do not bill Medicare for the concierge membership fee. However, Medicare covers an annual physical examination, so each year that you come to the office for a comprehensive physical exam.  Otherwise, we will continue to bill Medicare on your behalf for covered services.
